A Bennettsville man accused of robbing a gas station in May turned himself in at the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office.
According to Investigator Clay Anderson, Nicholas Shamar McBride, 22, turned himself into the Sheriff’s Office on July 19 for the charges of armed robbery in relation to an armed robbery on May 28.
Anderson said around 3 p.m., on May 28, the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Citgo Gas Station on the corner of Hwy 15-401 and Jennings St. Bennettsville for an armed robbery. An armed subject had entered the store and presented a firearm at the store clerk and demanded money. No one was injured.
McBride was transported to the Marlboro County Detention Center, where he was booked on the charges of armed robbery. McBride’s bond was denied at his bond hearing.
