BENNETTSVILLE — Local man, Michael Anthony Simmons, 57, has been missing from the Marlboro community since March 14. Simmons last known whereabouts were in the Bennettsville area.

He is described as a 6”1 African American male weighing 180 lbs., last seen wearing an orange shirt with black pants.

Simmons, who goes by the nickname “Tarantula” suffers from mental health issues, including PTSD resulting from previous military service.

Family and friends report they have had no contact with Simmons since March 14. Ground searches conducted by law enforcement have failed to turn up Simmons as well as few clues to his location.

“The investigations unit has exhausted all avenues and is still actively working the case,” Bennettsville Police Chief Sammy Crosland said this week.

He advises anyone who sees Simmons to please use caution and contact law enforcement immediately and encourages anyone with information to call the Bennettsville Police department at 843-479-3620.
