Eva Chiphe writes second book

CLIO – Local author Eva Chiphe has written a second booK.

Chiphe of Clio, the author of “When Love Walked The Earth: An African Myth,” has researched and interviewed citizens of Marlboro County for her new book, “African American History of Marlboro County”.

The research demonstrates that it was the love and faith of God that kept, guided, and sheltered African Americans throughout history.

Chiphe said Marlboro County is the home to a host of Black historical churches, which provided the foundation of the advocacy for freedom, education, and rights for all citizens. Black churches served as schools before the government provided schools for African American children, and after the law against Black people learning to read was lifted.

She said the new book will celebrate and honor numerous pioneers, innovators, and trailblazers for their faithfulness and love of human rights, education, and the overwhelming progress of an entire people.

Chiphe is a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church of Clio, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, Upsilon Sigma Omega Chapter of Bennettsville, Marian Wright Edelman Public Library Board of Directors, Marlboro NAACP, Berea Baptist Association, and founder of the I Love Club.

Chiphe said they will announce the pre-order and book launch dates in the first quarter of 2023.
