MCCOLL — Tuesday night McColl town council met for a regularly scheduled meeting where three integral members of the town of McColl employee family received recognition for their hard work and dedication to the town, even despite the occasional hardship. McColl Town Treasurer Tameka McLain, McColl Town Clerk Tammi Goff, and Head of the McColl Public Works Department Brent Cribb, all received plaques in their honor, handed out by Mayor Pro Tem Brian Blue.
“This is a thank you award to Ms. Tameka McLain for her hard work and outstanding dedication to the town of McColl,” said Blue. He went on to say Ms. McLain is not just a long-term employee, she is also a friend he has come to view as family.
Ms. Tammi Goff could not attend Tuesday evening; however, Councilwoman Lorraine Sampson accepted the award on her behalf. Blue shared a story of how when he was going through a difficult time and feeling very alone, Ms. Goff took time to pray with him, going so far as to offer him the gift of her prayer cloth—a special scrap of fabric given to her with love from her own dad, Blue remembered.
“It is something that will always stick in my heart,” Blue shared.
“Thank you so much for your time here,” Blue said to Head of Public Works Brent Cribb, a man he personally hired.
“I have seen him [Cribbs] learn so much and I see his dedication,” Blue continued.
