Marlboro County native Mikayla B. Miles was recognized with honors by Newberry College for the 2021-22 academic year.
Miles, a 2019 graduate of Marlboro County High School, is majoring in business administration with a minor in accounting.
She is the daughter of Natasha Miles and the late Ivor Miles.
She is the granddaughter of the Rev. Barbara and Harry Benjamin and Henry Miles and the late Jenelle Miles.
While a student at Newberry, Miles has been actively involved in various activities.
Recently, she was installed as the new SGA vice-president for the 2022-23 academic school year.
She was the senior resident advisor of the freshman residence hall.
She was the vice-president of the Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society.
Miles was also an audio/visual manager as well as a student ambassador.
She was also recognized as the 2022-23 best female senior residence hall advisor and ACE executive board member of the year.
Miles will graduate in May of 2023. After her undergraduate studies, Miles looks forward to attending graduate school in hopes of obtaining a master’s degree in health administration.
