MARLBORO COUNTY — In October, Marlboro mourned the loss of one of its own: Prezodous “Prep” Jenkins, who lost his life during an Oct. 11, 2025, shooting at Mr. G’s Nightclub on Atkins Street in the Laurinburg area, near the Bennettsville city limits.

Fast forward to mid-February 2026, and there are still no named suspects in Jenkins’ murder.

The family, who initially offered a $5,000 reward, has upped the reward to as much as $10,000 this week, announced the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office after Sheriff Larry McNeil and Chief Deputy Larry Turner met with members of the Jenkins family.

Currently, Investigator Hatcher is actively working on Jenkins’ case and asks anyone with information on his murder to come forward.

At the age of 31, Jenkins was a son, a friend, and a father when he passed, officials said.

The sheriff’s office says they have collected evidence and items have been catalogued and sent to South Carolina Law Enforcement Division. McNeil says his deputies are in the process of attempting to obtain and serve warrants, but more information is still needed from the public.

“If you possess credible information, it is imperative that you come forward — Please note that anonymity cannot be maintained in order to collect the reward,” cautions the sheriff’s office.
