BENNETTSVILLE — Crescent Hospice held its Bennettsville location Open House celebration Wednesday, welcoming a crowd of well-wishers with tables filled with festive treats and lots of friendly staff on hand to answer any and all questions from the community.
“Our goal, our mission is to provide the highest quality hospice care,” explains Program Director Jessica Ison. “We have really been serving the Marlboro County area for at least -about the last 15 years and we really feel a part of this community.”
Ison says Crescent focused on Marlboro County and the surrounding areas to provide care when their team realized none of the bigger hospices were. She explained their goal has always been to reach those in historically under-served locations.
“We are dedicated to providing quality, hometown care and with November being National Hospice Month, we thought this would be the best time to open and really showcase the services we provide,” says Ison, adding, “We get referrals from hospitals, doctors office, and the community. I would say Bennettsville is remarkably community driven.”
The crew at Crescent want the community to know they are here for them and if someone needs their services, they can feel free to contact the office M-F from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at 843-479-1110.
“When a family member is ready to reach out, we are ready to guide them through the process, explaining the resources and options available,” said Ison.
Communication Liaison Amber Oxendine says it always touches her heart to see care for those in need provided by the community.
“I am local, all our staff is local to here. I really believe in the care team we have here. I personally have been with Crescent Hospice care for the last twelve years and I think it really speaks volumes when a company has employee longevity. Compassion goes a long way here and is always a focal point of the care we provide in the community.”
While Crescent Hospice serves the entire state, Oxendine says she personally serves the Marlboro, Chesterfield, and Dillon areas. “I am so passionate about the services we offer, people can feel free to reach out to me directly if they need to. I can be reached at 843-858-5122 and we also have 24/7 on call staff.”
Chamber President Alexa Boan and Chamber Chairman Gage Speight were also thrilled to attend the event, as well as welcome another business into the community.
“I am always very excited about events that bring awareness and visibility to our Chamber members,” said Boan, adding, “Hospice is near and dear to me from a personal standpoint, my father was on hospice, but from the business side of things I think it is amazing for awareness to be brought to all the services they provide for individuals and families in the Marlboro community and beyond.”
