BENNETTSVILLE — Songs of praise and worship flooded city streets as the much-anticipated highlight of the spring, Gospel on the Gulf, took over the stage set up at the end of Market Street Saturday afternoon. The event was presented by the City of Bennettsville and hosted by Michael Ray Jacobs.
Attendees from across the county brought lawn chairs and positive vibes to the event. Local businesses, organizations, and vendors offered refreshments.
Katrina McRae, owner and operator of K&K Treats, and More said the day blessed both her soul and her wallet.
“Business has been good today-my Banana Pudding Cups are always a big hit,” says McRae who has been in business for seven years. She adds, “But my favorite thing today has of course been the singing”!
One of the standout bands for McRae was Dwelling Faith Ministry Praise Team.
For anyone suffering from a sweet tooth, K&K Treats, and more orders can be placed through the business Facebook page.
The Henegan family said they enjoyed some of the treats offered during the event but admit they came all the way from Blenheim for the music.
Berniece and Ronald Henegan said all the musical acts were really good, but they were especially excited and proud to have the praise team from their church in Blenheim, Cedar Falls, performing at the event.
“There is a lot of delicious food here,” Berniece said.
Sheronica Henegan agreed, adding she was also impressed by the wealth of talent on display.
“Everyone is so talented, and I love the singing,” Sheronica praised.
Other praise bands and dancers who performed at Gospel on the Gulf were C.R.S.E Band and Graham Family, Reverend Larry Williams and Christian Jubilee, Divine Dancers of Cedar Fall MOC, Phenomenal Blessings Academy Choir, and the Marlboro Community Choir.
