BENNETTSVILLE—After two weeks off the field, the Marlboro County High School Bulldogs celebrated homecoming with a win over Aynor.
The Bulldogs beat the Blue Jackets 41-8 in front of a packed crowd of alumni and fans. With a 6-0 record, the Bulldogs head to Georgetown to take on the 2-3 Georgetown Bulldogs. Those Bulldogs enter the contest following a 36-20 loss to Waccamaw.
The MCHS Bulldogs riding high on the play of quarterback Nydarion Blackwell who threw for 180 yards against the Blue Jackets. Blackwell connected with Justin Purvis and Donavan Pauling-Outlaw for four touchdowns.
Running back Josiah Robinson rushed for 96 yards, averaging 16 yards a carry, and scored a touchdown. Tre Blakeney added to the ground game with 39 yards rushing and a touchdown. The Bulldogs rushed for 131 yards and passed for 185.
Marlboro County’s defense has only allowed 10.8 points per game this season.
Georgetown has lost eight straight games at home dating back to last season. The MCHS Bulldogs are road warriors as they have three games on the road. The North Myrtle Beach game counts as a victory because the team forfeited.
The Bulldogs face the Dillon Wildcats on Oct. 18 in Dillon. The Wildcats are currently 4-2 and 0-1 in the region.
