National Night Out is set for August 6, however, in Marlboro County, the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office is celebrating for a week.
National Night Out is an annual event where communities across the country connect with law enforcement. The focus of the event is to get neighborhoods actively involved in preventing crime in their community.
Starting Monday, MCSO will visit McColl from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the C.W. Love Complex. There will be a cook out and door prizes for participants.
“We also have a gift for each school that will hopefully help out our children and will be giving away a $100 gift card at each location. All of this wouldn’t be possible without our partnerships with Domtar Paper, Food Lion, Marlboro County School District and Safe Kids Pee Dee/Coastal,” according to a release from MCSO.
Tuesday the next event will be held at Carroll Field in Bennettsville from 5 p.m to 7 p.m.
Wednesday the MCSO will visit Bennett Park in Clio from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Thursday’s stop is Brightsville Park in Wallace from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The week wraps up in Blenheim at the Wade H. Prince Recreation Center from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
