Pilot Club of Bennettsville members: Jincey Lee, 2024 - 2025 Pilot Club of Bennettsville President Dyann Stroud, and Vivian Lee
The 102nd Pilot International Annual Convention and Leadership Conference was held July 17 – 20, 2024, in Denver, CO. Council of Leaders was held July 15 – 17, 2024, to provide additional training for the incoming District Administrative Council members. Among the 608 attendees were 3 members of the Pilot Club of Bennettsville: 2024 – 2025 President Dyann Stroud, Jincey Lee, and Vivian Lee.
The opening ceremony on Wednesday, July 17th, included the presentation of the flags, the 2023 – 2024 Governors parade (in which Jincey Lee participated), and presentations by groups from Hawaii and the Bahamas as we were Celebrating Our Cultures. On Thursday, July 18th, our speaker was Dustin James, a powerhouse motivational speaker. During the day, the budget and bylaw changes were considered and voted on then we heard updates from various Pilot leaders such as 2023 – 2024 PI President Holly Baker, BrainMinders committee chair Lisa Palmquist, and the Helmet People committee chair Karen Cupit. The night ended with dinner and a comedian as a fundraiser for Pilot International Founders Fund. On Friday, July 19th, our day began with our Navigators parade, information about our 2025 convention site (Charlotte, NC), our speaker Hagan Walker (CEO of Glo), speakers from the Autism Society of Colorado, then our service project (creating sensory packs including Glo pals). The afternoon was spent in workshops along with the Anchor Cultural Exchange. The night ended with Bingo, a fundraiser for Pilot International Founders Fund. Saturday, July 20th, began with 2024 – 2025 PI President NIcki Dawkins’ brunch followed by the Anchor/Compass panel, vision for 2024 – 2025, and several drawing winners. The evening ended with our installation banquet where Vivian Lee, 2024 – 2025 PI Inspirational Leader, provided the inspirational message prior to the meal. After the meal, the installation of officers was handled by Past International President Winnie Brewer from FL. The night ended with a Junkanoo parade by a group from the Bahamas to celebrate the new PI President Nicki Dawkins from the Bahamas.
