BENNETTSVILLE— Members of St. Beulah Missionary Baptist Church delivered a blessing to the Pee Dee Coalition Thursday.

“We’re proud to be the first of that vision,” said Wendy Woods, county coordinator for the Pee Dee Coalition.

The church donated 103 purses filled with toiletries and items women who need services from the women’s shelter. “It’s a beautiful thing and it shows God’s love when they know someone cares. What we think is small, it is big to others. So we thank St. Beulah, Mrs. Kennedy and Reverend Kennedy for the vision to do this in Marlboro County,” Woods said.

Denise Kennedy, first lady of the church, said she made a call to the churches members to help the women in need. “I only asked for 50 (bags) , then I asked for 75, then I asked God to just give us an overflow,” she said. “I am so proud of the women of St. Beulah and how they came forth with it.”
