Tuesday at 7:40 pm the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Red Hill Rd about a shooting. Once on scene Deputies and Investigators determined that an argument led to the shooting of two people, both with non-life threatening injuries.
At this time one individual is in custody and there is no current danger to the public. This investigation is still ongoing by the Criminal Investigative Division.
On July 4,Deputies responded to the Bennettsville community of Marlboro County for a call for service in reference to threats.
Once on scene deputies learned that during a verbal altercation, a firearm was allegedly pointed at several individuals, escalating the matter immediately.
The subject, later identified as Antonio Alleyne had fled the scene at the time that Deputies were on scene, but given the witness statements and evidence at the scene, warrants for pointing and presenting a firearm were sought and granted.
Alleyne was arrested and transported to the Marlboro County Detention Center where he was held while awaiting a bond hearing. This case was investigated by Investigator Hill of the Criminal Investigations Division. On July 5th a Marlboro County Magistrate granted Alleyne a $5,000 Surety Bond.
On July 2, Deputies with the Uniformed Patrol Division responded to a call for service in the Bennettsville area of Marlboro County in reference to an individual threatening people with a gun, but the individual had fled when Deputies arrived.
After reviewing the incident and taking statements it was determined that the subject, identified as Chad Branham, had not only allegedly threatened the life of the complainant but had done so in the presence of a minor as well, further enhancing the charges that would be sought for Branham.
The subject did return to the scene where he proceeded to barricade himself in the home and assault the victim. Just before the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office made entry into the home, Branham surrendered and was taken into custody without further incident.
Warrants were sought and granted for Domestic Violence High and Aggravated Nature as well as Assault and Battery High and Aggravated Nature.
Branham was transported to the Marlboro County Detention Center without incident where he will be held as he awaited a bond hearing. He was seen by a Marlboro County Magistrate and his bond was DENIED.
