BENNETTSVILLE—Members of the Bennettsville-Cheraw Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will present two young ladies in their Miss Jabberwock Scholarship Pageant Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the Marlboro Civic Center in Bennettsville at 5:00 p.m.
This year’s theme, “Inspiring Dreams to Empower a Future,” will offer an evening of talent and entertainment with two young ladies vying for the title of Miss Jabberwock.
Miss Jabberwock Contestants are Terilynn Holmes and Michayla McDuffie.
Terilynn Holmes is a junior at Marlboro County High School. Her parents are Terry and Trudy Holmes. She is sponsored by Dannie Blair, Karen Clark, and Kimberly H. Dease.
Michayla McDuffie is a senior at Lugoff Elgin High School. Her parents are Michael and Marcie McDuffie. She is sponsored by Nelvin Ellerbe, Melani Green, and Valerie Moore.
The Miss Jabberwock Pageant is an event that is sponsored biennially by the Bennettsville-Cheraw Alumnae Chapter. Since its inception in 1990, the chapter has raised approximately $400,000 in scholarships awarded to high school seniors in the Marlboro and Cheraw communities to attend colleges, universities, and technical colleges of their choice.
The chapter’s president is Lynn C. Henry and vice president and program chair is Andrea Renee McLeod. The public is cordially invited to attend this event.
