Dear Residents of District 54 My Name is Betty Jo Quick

It gives me great pleasure to officially announce my candidacy for SC House of Representative District 54. I give all of the honor to God for the courage and the will to run for office.

I am a native of Marlboro County born and raised. I am the daughter of the late James & Virginia Little Sr. and the youngest of 12 siblings. I am married to Willie Quick Jr. Together we share 4 children and 12 grandchildren. I am a member of the Word of Life Christian Center Ministries in Bennettsville SC.

For over 20 plus years I have dedicated a portion of my life to serving my community. My passion started in 1999 when the world began to shift to technology and rely on computers. I couldn’t afford a computer for my children at that time to complete their homework assignments, It was then my heart’s desire to do something about it. I started a Non-profit After-School program that provided 30 computers and printers for 100 at-risk youths with volunteer teachers and whole wholesome meals at the Word of Life Christian Center Ministries, Bennettsville SC.

As my passion and love grow for the community. I organized 3 county-wide prayer camp meetings with over 300 people in attendance to pray for our County, Schools, Churches, Government & etc. I answered the call to ministry and was Ordained in 2014 and 2019 was Ordained as a Chaplain. I have a non-profit organization ( New Beginnings Restoration Transitional Housing Inc.) to assist families that are experiencing hardship. I’ve also assisted and organized distribution trucks with food and PPE products, volunteered with the 2020 Census and with COVID-19 Vaccinations, and assisted with the SC Stay Plus program, assisting residents whose income has been affected by the COVID-19 virus.

I am a leader with a heart for the people. When I look around in my community and the surrounding communities. I see landmarks in the communities that were once thriving and are now delipidated. I see Poverty, but most of all I see Potential, Hope, and an opportunity to do something about it. I am running for office because an opportunity has presented itself. I want a seat at the table where I can best serve my community and district through the House of Representatives.

In this position at the State House. I will use my position to collaborate with others across the aisle to advocate for policies and laws that will promote Affordable Housing, Economic Development, Infrastructure, and Education in District 54, for a better plan and a better future.

I am a woman of integrity who is dependable and one who has a vision for the people. I solicit your prayers, support, and your vote, Please consider me at the Polls on June 11, 2024. Vote for, Betty Jo Quick for the House of Representative District 54.

Sincerely,

Betty Jo Quick
