MARLBORO COUNTY — The Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) announced the arrest of Brolyn Henry, following a chase through McColl on Tuesday. Henry is charged with trafficking cocaine and failure to stop for blue lights.

Deputies attempted to stop the suspect in his car in the McColl area, but Henry continued driving, forcing investigators to pursue him down Pea Bridge Road into Scotland County, North Carolina.

Not long into the chase, Henry wrecked his car. Despite the loss of wheels, he did not give up and attempted continuing to evade deputies on foot.

According to MCSO, “Henry was located shortly after in a wooded area by the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s bloodhound team. Following a brief standoff, Henry surrendered to law enforcement.”

In a statement released by MCSO, they gave credit to law enforcement from Scotland County, Chesterfield County, Cheraw PD, Hartsville PD, Laurinburg PD, and DNR for their assistance in locating Henry. North Carolina Highway Patrol assisted in securing the wreck site and handling traffic while the agencies listed above located Henry.

Ultimately, 10 kilograms, or bricks, of cocaine were located in the suspect’s vehicle. 10 kilograms of cocaine have a street value of $680,000. After his arrest, Henry was remanded to the MC Detention Center where he is awating his day in court.

“It was an outstanding effort by all involved that led to a peaceful resolution. Thanks to the effort of all agencies’ determination to combat this growing drug epidemic that plagues the world,” said the MCSO in a released statement.
