It’s time again to experience the flavor of Marlboro County.
Tickets are on sale for the ninth annual Taste of Marlboro.
The annual event, a fund-raiser for the Marlboro County Chamber of Commerce, will be from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14 at the Bennettsville Community Center.
Tickets are $25 in advance. Limited tickets may be available at the door for $30. You must be 21 to attend. The attire is business casual.
The Taste of Marlboro provides an opportunity for both amateur and professional chefs to show their best recipes to the community. Chef sponsors prepare 300 taste-size samples for those attending.
Chamber President Janelle Bakogiannis said it is a huge event for the county, as well as neighboring counties.
“It’s a chance to showcase area restaurants and chefs, and for community members to experience cuisines and restaurants they maybe wouldn’t have otherwise,” she said.
The event is expanding to outside with a lounge area and beer garden.
Bakogiannis said they are providing sponsors with VIP passes to make them more visible during the event and help promote their businesses.
There are normally 20-25 tables at the event but, she added, there is still room for more participants. “We would do our best to allow anyone interested in doing a table to do one,” Bakogiannis said.
Applications can be downloaded from marlborochamber.org or email firstname.lastname@example.org.

“My favorite part of this event is the community coming together,” Bakogiannis said. “It’s like you’re sharing a meal with all of your neighbors, and it always ends up being a fun night you remember.”
David Graham will be the DJ for the event.
Those attending will have a chance to vote on the People’s Choice while a secret panel of judges will award the best table display, best dessert, and best dish.
Tickets are from any chamber board member and online at marlborochamber.org.
