Running in honor of fallen officers

This week, Curtis Boyd of Fitness WorldWide Gym and four other runners are completing the S.C. Fallen Officers Relay Run in honor of the 394 officers who have died in the history of the state. The 394-mile run started in Darlington and will end later this week at the Statehouse in Columbia. The group stopped briefly in Marlboro County on Thursday to have law enforcement here run with them. Here, from left, are Cpl. Fred Miller of the Bennettsville Police Department, Boyd, and Marlboro County Sheriff Charles Lemon running down Highway 15-40l. More details of the run will be included in the June 20 issue of the Herald-Advocate.                 Photo by Jacqueline Hough
