McCOLL – A tip about a stolen tractor led to an arrest on April 13.
Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Larry Turner said deputies were dispatched to Briar Patch Road in McColl on March 22 with information from a tipster about a John Deere tractor that appeared to have been hidden in a wooded area.
During the investigation, it was determined that the tractor had been stolen from a residence off Hwy 79.
Thomas Walter Pegues was charged and arrested on April 13 for grand larceny in connection with the theft of the tractor and taken into custody without incident.
Pegues is being held at the Marlboro County Detention awaiting a bond hearing.
