Two McColl men were charged in connection with an overdose death in September.
According to Investigator Clay Anderson of the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office, the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a residence on Jones Street in the McColl area of the county on Sept. 8 about an overdose.
The Uniformed

Patrol Division along with the Criminal Investigation Division responded to the residence and found Michael Wayne Ward, 28 of Laurel Hill, NC, deceased inside the residence.
The Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office along with the Marlboro County Coroner’s Office immediately began to investigate this death as an overdose.
Anderson said through the course of the investigation, warrants were obtained for Adam Keith Goff, 24 of McColl, and Harry James Roller, 46 of McColl, for involuntary manslaughter, distribution of fentanyl, and distribution of meth in relation to the case.
The Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division located Roller on Main Street in McColl on Oct. 4 and arrested him for the above warrants. At the time of Roller’s arrest, he was in possession of fentanyl.
The Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division located Goff at a residence on Hwy 381 North McColl on Oct. 4 and arrested him for the above warrants.
At the time of Goff’s arrest, he was in possession of what Goff stated was methamphetamine.
Both Roller and Goff were transported to the Marlboro County Detention Center for the above warrants and Roller was additionally charged with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.
Goff was additionally charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine 2nd offense.
Roller’s bond was denied during his bond hearing at the Marlboro County Magistrate’s Office and Goff was given a $100,000 surety bond including GPS ankle monitor if he were to post bond.
At the time of Goff’s arrest, he was out on bond for other charges.
