Name: David Limbacher
Education: I have a bachelor’s degree in management. Residence: McColl
Occupation: I am a maintenance manager. What current or past offices have you held?
There is no previous office.
Why did you decide to run for council?
I have lived in McColl for 27 years. My wife and I raised three children here and sent them through the McColl school system. I felt that I should give back to the town and the best way was with my time. With 35 years of maintenance experience and a license in water and wastewater from DHEC, I could be an asset to the town.
What do you see as the council’s role and responsibility?
The role of the council is to look out for the best interest of the town and advance the town agenda. The council should also listen to resident issues and concerns and provide appropriate feedback.
What two main issues do you believe need to be addressed in McColl and how would you go about addressing them?
The main issues I would start to concentrate on are the water/wastewater infrastructure and cash flow in and out of the town. To address would be a time-consuming agenda that would take my personal time and to development of a long-term plan to address.
Name: Jody C. Stubbs
Education: I earned an associate degree in social work.
Residence: McColl
Occupation: I am a disabled veteran
What current or past offices have you held?
I am a past member of the McColl town council.
Why did you decide to run for council?
To improve our town, to the best of my ability! What do you see as the council’s role and responsibility?
It is to ensure the town is receiving all funds, grants, stipends, or whatever due to the town or eligible to our town, for the improvement of our town.
What two main issues do you believe need to be addressed in McColl and how would you go about addressing them?
There needs to be a council and mayor who are willing to work together, addressing our issues with water meters and old water lines, as well as cleaning up our town of the dilapidated and abandoned or burnt houses that have been left. We need to address the owners of these properties and hold them accountable to clean up these places that are huge eyesore for our town.
