Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, Upsilon Sigma Omega Chapter members celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Monday, January 16.
Chapter members had the pleasure of celebrating their “We Are One” MLK day with B.T.U. Rest Home. Members spent time with residents and engaged in a BINGO. Residents were provided with a variety of snacks and other essentials such as socks, face masks, and wipes.
On the evening of January 16th, chapter members attended the annual NAACP program at the Word of Life Christian Center Ministries.
Those in attendance remembered the legacy of Dr. King and its impact on the nation and local community.
Annually, members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated remember the legacy of Dr. King
with “a day on, not a day off.” Members also participated in the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
parade that was held downtown Bennettsville.
