HARTSVILLE South Carolina Legal Services will have a free Pro Se Divorce Clinic.

The event will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at the Hartsville Memorial Library, located at 147 West College Avenue.

No one will be allowed into the clinic after 2:05 p.m.

Seating is limited; pre-register by calling 843-413-9500.

The clinic will include forms and instructions to assist in the filing of a divorce action in Family Court in Florence, Dillon, Darlington, Marlboro, Chesterfield, and Clarendon counties, serving your spouse, representing yourself at a Final Hearing, and filing the appropriate Final Divorce documents – all without an attorney.

In order to qualify for this assistance, you MUST MEET ALL of the following requirements:

You must be separated for over one year;

You cannot have any property to divide;

You must know where your spouse lives and your spouse cannot be incarcerated;

Your spouse must live in Marlboro, Florence, Dillon, Darlington, Chesterfield, or Clarendon counties or you must have lived in one of those counties the last time you lived together;

The wife must not be pregnant or have given birth to ANY children during the marriage, either by the husband or anyone else, who is currently under the age of 18.
