The Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office expects to make arrests in the coming days after a shooting incident early Sunday left one dead and four injured.
According to Investigator Clay Anderson, the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office responded to The Spot nightclub, 614 Highway 15-401 East Bennettsville around 2:35 a.m. on Sunday about a shooting incident.
Upon arrival, deputies and investigators learned that four victims sustained injuries from gunshots, and all four were taken by personal vehicles to surrounding hospitals.
Anderson said the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office requested SLED Crime Scene to respond to process the scene.
The Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office was later informed by medical staff that Lancetausha Pouncy, 28, of Bennettsville, did pass away because of the shooting incident.
Anderson said the other victims are listed in serious condition.
“The Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office has identified several suspects and are actively looking for them at this time,” he said. “Arrests are expected in the coming days.”
