Blood drive to be held on July 25 in McColl
MYRTLE BEACH — The American Red Cross is partnering with Ripley’s Aquarium to urge eligible donors of all blood types to dive into donating for patients in need.
Come seize the oppor-tuna-ty at the summer blood drive on from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 22 at Ripley’s Aquarium, 1110 Celebrity Circle in Myrtle Beach.
Locally, there will be a blood drive at McColl Pentecostal Holiness Church, 400 S. Main Street from 2-7 p.m. on July 25.
The need for blood and platelet transfusions doesn’t take a summer break. The American Red Cross needs help from donors of all blood types to ensure hospital shelves are stocked with lifesaving blood products. Donors of all blood types – especially type O – are urged to make an appointment to give now and help ensure patients can receive the lifesaving treatments they need over the summer months and beyond.
“As summer nears, blood donations are critically important in the weeks ahead to maintain a stable blood supply. When schools let out and families set off on vacation, the American Red Cross typically sees a decline in donors, often leading to a seasonal blood shortage,” said Michael Hesbach, Executive Director, Eastern SC chapter. “The need for lifesaving blood transfusions never takes a break. We are so thankful to our partner Ripley’s Aquarium for stepping up and supporting this life-saving work and encouraging everyone to come out and donate.”
