MARLBORO COUNTY — A Marlboro County man accused in the 2021 fatal shooting of Robert Lee Covington, who was also known as “Rabbit,” is on trial this week at the Marlboro County Courthouse, Fourth Circuit.
Johnnie Ray Marshall Jr., who also goes by “Razor,” is facing trial on charges that include murder, first-degree burglary, criminal conspiracy, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and grand larceny in connection with Covington’s death.
Covington, 37, was killed in a December 2021 shooting on Patricia Street in Marlboro County.
Marshall is among three defendants charged in the investigation.
Authorities said Marshall was taken into custody in Hartford, Connecticut, in June 2022 before being returned to South Carolina to answer for the charges.
