MARLBORO COUNTY— A stated goal of Marlboro County Sheriff Larry McNeil is to focus on tomorrow’s future through the youth of today. To further that endeavor, the MCSO remains personally involved in area schools and their events.
Sheriff McNeil says he couldn’t let the 2026-2027 school year start off without the MCSO bringing students some much needed supplies and good cheer.
This year, McNeil and his deputies partnered with Domtar to bring 8 area schools a special delivery of 10 cases of paper.
“We are so proud, and grateful to Domtar, for the opportunity to provide our students with paper we know they are going to need, use, and otherwise have to purchase, throughout the school year,” McNeil said. He also said he is grateful for the strong working relationship the MCSO has built with Domtar over many years of service, and is appreciative of their continued committment to the Marlboro community.
Chief Deputy Larry Turner says that in addition to giving out donated school supplies during the MCSO’s National Night Out last Tuesday, the office really wanted to find another meaningful way to support MCSD students and teachers.
“One expense that often goes unnoticed is copy paper. It is an essential classroom supply, but it can also be a significant cost for our schools. Through a great partnership with Domtar, we are able to help ease some of that burden,” Turner said. He added, “Thanks to their generosity, Domtar donated 10 cases of copy paper to each school for National Night Out. The MCSO is thankful for Domtar and everyone who helps us invest in the future of Marlboro County.”
