CLIO — For newly elected County Councilman Adrian Kinney, change is all about seeing where you can help, rolling up your sleeves and finding a solution. Most recently, Kinney started up a local Wellness Walking club for the residents of Clio, and beyond, to come together, fellowship, and get healthy. Kinney also created Senior Citizen’s Night, held at the Clio Community Center for individuals who are 62 or older.
Kinney says the goal of his newest initiative is to offer seniors a chance to get out safely together and have a fun time playing games, exercising, and enjoying some community fellowship over light refreshments. Since the program began earlier this summer, Clio seniors have been typically meeting on the first and third Tuesday of each month. Upcoming dates for seniors to get together in Clio at the Community Center are August 18, September 1, 15, and 29th.
Saturday, Kinney is holding his second Stop Gun Violence rally, presented by the Marlboro Men, at 12 p.m. at Bennett Park, with special guest Shawn Smart.
Councilman Kinney says the event is to bring the community together to offer support, awareness, and, hopefully, change.
