MARLBORO COUNTY — Around the county, several Back-to-School bashes are upcoming. Tiny Threads of Love and Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church are leading the way, both holding events on Saturday, July 18.
July 18
This 2026, Tiny Threads of Love will be holding its inaugural Back-to-School Bash, Cookout, and Field Day at 1641 Odom Road in Bennettsville from 1 to 7 p.m. A jam-packed day, 2 p.m. starts the free dental care bag giveaway while supplies last, the clear bookbag giveaway starts at 3 p.m. and runs while supplies last, and 7- day meal boxes will be given away while supplies last from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Other activities during the event include field day games like sack races, tug-of-war, obstacle course, cornhole tournament and more. Additionally, a water zone will be set up to keep attendees cool while they have fun, along with bounce houses, music, face painting, anti-bullying resources, and much more!
Event organizers say parents are definitely urged to participate in this family friendly day, while all attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and good vibes. Parking for the event will be across the street at 1618 Odom Road.
Starting at 12 p.m., Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church will be giving away free bookbags, school supplies, hot dogs, snacks, and fun! Located at 1047 Sandy Grove Church Road, organizers say all children are welcome, but a child must be present to benefit from the supply giveaway. Event will last until supplies run out. From 6 to 7:30 p.m. Clio will be holding a Back-to-School Drive at Clio Town Hall on Friday, July 24. School supplies will be distributed while they last. For more information on this event, contact Eunice Ray at (843) 439-4452.
July 25
Nah’Zia’s Corner is holding its fourth annual Anti-Bullying Back-to School-Bash Saturday, July 25 at Smith Park in Bennettsville, located at 201 South Cottingham Bvld. from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
“This event is free for our community, and we are coming bigger and better this year,” Nesha Catina, founder of Nah’Zia’s Corner, said. She adds, “This is more than just a back-to-school event, this is about creating a safe space, spreading awareness, and reminding our kids that they matter, they are loved, and they are not alone. We do this in honor of [my daughter] Nah’Zia, and every child who deserves to feel safe and supported.”
During the event, free clear bookbags and school supplies will be given away while supplies last, water slides for the kids to stay cool and happy, mental health and community resources for all, guest speakers, live DJ, FREE food, and much more!
