At 12:56 a.m., officers with the BPD responded to a business wishing to have a female trespassed. At the scene, officers met with the store’s loss prevention officer who explained they wanted the woman trespassed due to her past and current defecation on the store’s bathroom floor. An apparent repeat offender, the loss prevention officer stated to law enforcement that this was in fact the woman’s fourth bathroom floor defecating escapade inside the store. After speaking with loss prevention, officers confronted the woman and issued a trespass order on scene. The woman then left the area. Case closed.
At 2:29 p.m., BPD officers responded to a gas station on 410 South Highway 38 in response to reported vandalism. Upon arrival officers learned from the station attendant the pump was damaged when a vendor inadvertently damaged the pump while in the process of making a fuel delivery. The attendant further stated that the driver involved in the incident alerted the clerk to the damage, however, the station owner wished to have a report filed. Case closed.
June 13
At 8:00 a.m., officers responded to a residence on Fayetteville Avenue in response to a reported trespasser allegedly knocking on the doors and windows of the home and refusing to leave. When officers arrived, the female victim stated that a male subject known to her was causing all the unwanted ruckus. Officers next spoke with the male in question who admitted to consuming alcohol earlier. In reports, officers noted the gentlemen appeared intoxicated and his speech was slurred. After speaking with the male, he left but then later returned to the scene, this time with a cup of alcohol. Ryan Jennings was subsequently placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and transported to the Marlboro County Detention Center. Case closed by arrest.
June 14
At 7:10 p.m., officers responded to Walmart where a reported robbery occurred inside of the store. At the scene, officers spoke with the female victim who said she set her wallet on the store’s cell phone kiosk and when she left the area, she also left her wallet behind. Realizing what must have happened, the victim circled back to the kiosk, only to find her wallet gone. After alerting a store employee to the alleged theft, the woman was advised to call law enforcement and report the incident. Officers reviewed the store’s security footage and discovered an unknown white male being dropped off in front of the store. The male is described as wearing a gray shirt with tan shorts. After entering the store, the male made a beeline for the phone kiosk where he is seen on camera standing for several moments before reaching out and picking up an item from the top shelf of the kiosk, appearing to be the victim’s missing wallet. Next, the male left the store, got inside of a white Ford Escape, and exited the parking lot in an unknown direction. The value of the stolen wallet is approximately $100. Case is active.
June 15
At 1:50 p.m., officers responded to a business on 410 Highway 38 South following a report of someone absconding with unpaid cigarettes. According to the store’s manager, the male suspect was wearing a white T-shirt and sunglasses when he exited the store with the allegedly pilfered smokes. After stealing an entire carton of cigarettes valued at $104, the manager claimed she saw the male next heading towards the McDonalds. A thorough search of the area was conducted but failed to turn up the alleged thief. Case is active.
June 19
At 11:23 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Sunnybank Street following a report of threats. At the scene, officers spoke with a male victim who claimed that a male driving a white Hyundai sedan pulled up to his house, aimed a shotgun style long gun at him, and then allegedly threatened to shoot him. Luckily the man did not do so and instead opted to drive away from the scene. Officers advised the victim a report would be filed. Case is active.
