BENNETTSVILLE — Preparing for April’s focus on the environment with upcoming days of action, like Earth Day on April 22, and National Arbor Day on April 24, the City of Bennettsville began its cleanup efforts early, breaking out the gloves, trash bags, and rakes Saturday, March 21.
Organizers and volunteers focused primarily on Ella Street, Center Street, Beauty Spot Road, and West Main Street, after the Valero Gas Station, and Third Avenue. Clean up operations began at 9 a.m. and ran through 11 a.m., with food and fellowship for volunteers following all their hard work from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Bennettsville City Hall.
Clio’s Community Cleanup is scheduled for this upcoming Saturday, April 4, from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Volunteers are asked to meet at the Clio Town Hall and interested parties are asked to contact Adrian Kinney 704-301-9767 for additional information.
