BENNETTSVILLE — Spring has officially sprung and Clover the Bunny was seen hopping down the bunny trail at Kid’s Land Park in Bennettsville Saturday afternoon during the city of Bennettsville’s Easter Egg Hunt. An annual event, many residents praised the city for offering such a fun and memorable event for families.

“This is our second year attending. We had such a great time last year, we knew we would be bringing our kids back,” said one local resident.

Sisters Selena and Naomi said it was also their second year attending the Easter Egg Hunt.

Mother and daughter Lacey Melton from Cheraw were excited to be attending the event for the first time.

“We have already been to the Cheraw Springtime Festival, and we are excited to come find some Easter eggs here in Bennettsville,” said Lacey.

Packed with easter egg hunters and celebrators alike, the city’s Easter extravaganza was filled with laughter, music, face painting, and pictures with Clover the Bunny. Ms. Jaharra Graves was emcee for the event; keeping things rolling and entertaining attendees.

Face painting for the event was graciously offered by Creative Daize by Daishanna Pearson, who decorated many little faces Saturday in an array of whimsical designs.

Trying something new this year, organizers divided egg hunters by their ages. In between each age group egg hunt, mostly volunteers from Marlboro County High School hid easter eggs. Kayleigh Northam who is a member of the BETA Club, lent her time Saturday helping hide eggs for the event.

“This is such a great experience for the kids in Bennettsville to have—there isn’t always much to do—and this makes for such a great event for our community. I love seeing the kids outdoors, running around just being kids. It is really such a fun event, and I love seeing our community come together to have fun,” Kayleigh said.

More Easter 2026 memories were made around the county Saturday as well, including a similar Easter event at the First Methodist Church in Bennettsville and a free community fish fry and afternoon Easter Egg Hunt in McColl. Clio’s Easter Egg Hunt is Saturday, April 4, at 10:30 a.m. at Bennett Park. In the event of inclement weather, Clio’s Easter Egg Hunt will be moved indoors to the Clio Rural Fire Department.

Sponsors for the City of Bennettsville’s 2026 Easter Egg Hunt was The Marlboro County Coordinating Council, 4H Clemson Extension, The American Legion, B&B Construction, and A+ Auto Spa.

The City of Bennettsville is already looking ahead towards planning and promoting its upcoming inaugural Bee Festival on Saturday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event promises a full day of local fun, entertainment, food, art, and so much more! Bennettsville bee ready!
