BENNETTSVILLE – Bennettsville Intermediate School launched its Good News Club in December 2025 under the leadership of former principal Jarriel Jacobs, offering students a new after-school opportunity centered on faith, encouragement, and positive character development.
The club meets every Tuesday for one hour and is open to students with parental permission.
Since its inception, the program has generated strong interest and enthusiasm from both students and families.
The club is facilitated by Pastor Joshua Hilton, Jacob Orr, and Lillian Moore of Thomas Memorial Baptist Church. Each session is intentionally structured to engage students spiritually and socially, featuring a “Word of the Day,” a Bible-based lesson, and a time of worship through music.
Student participation has remained consistent, with students demonstrating high levels of engagement and excitement each week. The program provides a supportive environment where students can form meaningful peer connections while developing values rooted in faith, kindness, and strong character.
Current principal, Mr. Oscar Gregg expressed appreciation for the program, highlighting the positive atmosphere it creates on campus and the dedication of the volunteer facilitators. As the Good News Club continues to grow, Mr. Gregg hopes it will remain a meaningful and uplifting experience for students throughout the school year.
