Historical Sawmill Missionary Baptist Church announces Mother, Father of the Year

Members of the Historical Sawmill Missionary Baptist Church held their annual Mother’s Day Program Sunday, May 11. Captains represented two missionary circles. They were Mrs. Cynthia Emanuel of circle two and Mrs. Shirley Little of circle four.

Mrs. Emanuel was named Mother of the Year.

Recognition and appreciation was given to both captains for their participation and contribution to the Mother’s Day program. Ms. Hiltra Watson is president of the General Missionary and Rev. James J. Anderson is pastor.

The Father’s Day program Sunday, June 15. Two captains were represented: Mr. Donald Calhoun and Mr. Ronnie Moore.

Mr. Calhoun was named Father of the Year.

Recognition and appreciation was given to both captains for their participation and contribution to the Father’s Day program. A dinner was prepared to celebrate and honor fathers after the service.
