BENNETTSVILLE — Hundreds of eager kids and their parents turned out Saturday for Bennettsville’s annual Easter Egg Hunt in Kids Land Park. Bennettsville Parks and Rec, with some help from MCHS students, put out almost 4,000 colorful, candy-filled eggs for children to grab. Children ages 2-6 were on one side of the park while 7-11-year-olds were on the other side.
After 10 minutes, not a single egg was left on the ground, but there was still plenty of fun to be had. The Easter Bunny, looking quite dapper in an Easter-themed vest and blue bow tie, was available for photos and hugs. Thomas Memorial Baptist Church had beads for kids to make a salvation bracelet while 2nd Baptist Church had sand art crosses kids could make. Face painting, basketball hoops, and giant Jenga and Connect Four games were other fun options.
In case all that fun made you hungry and all that candy wasn’t enough, food trucks were selling sausage dogs, hot dogs, wings, fries, slushies and ice cream. All activities, except food trucks, were free.
