BENNETTSVILLE — The team at the Herald-Advocate mourns the loss of Morrison Malachi, who passed away on March 16, 2025.
A dedicated hawker “newspaperman” and valued colleague, Morrison made a lasting impact through his hard work and commitment to the Herald-Advocate and the community of Marlboro County.
Morrison has worked with the Herald-Advocate for well over 17 years. He would always show up to work on Thursday mornings ready to work with a smiling face and positive attitude. It never mattered how the weather was that day, he would still show up to work ready to serve his community by getting the weekly newspaper out along with one of his close friends named “Quinn,” who is also one of the Herald-Advocate hawkers.
They made a great team together and loved working with each other. Morrison was the friendly face the community saw each Thursday standing on the corner of Parsonage Street selling the weekly newspapers. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Malachi’s family, friends and loved ones during this difficult time.
Morrison’s sister, Lekeysha Ayenumelo, has organized a GoFundMe to help cover his final expenses. Visit www.gofundme.com/f/help-cover-morrisons-final-expenses.
We’ll miss you.
