MARLBORO COUNTY — A local man is behind bars after allegedly pulling out a gun during a domestic violence incident on Christmas day.

Officials with the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office said Albert Clark was extradited back to the county Tuesday after being arrested in Scotland County, North Carolina.

He faces several charges including domestic violence, kidnapping and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

According to reports, Clark was wanted in connection to an incident on Dec. 25, 2024, in McColl, where he and a victim were arguing. Clark reportedly struck the victim and pulled out a gun, leading to a struggle that resulted in the gun firing. Clark then left the scene in another vehicle, reports state.

It’s unclear if anyone was hurt in the struggle, but the sheriff’s office said the fired bullet struck “inside of the victim’s vehicle.”

The sheriff’s office said Clark was also linked to an October 2023 incident in McColl in which Clark again got physical during an argument with a victim.

Clark allegedly refused to let the victim out of a vehicle by placing his thumb on the victim’s jaw and applying pressure. Deputies said this caused the victim to retaliate before they escaped and called 911.

Authorities said Clark is being held at the Marlboro County Detention Center.
