There are three upcoming COVID-19 vaccination events to help in raising the county’s vaccination rate.
Several incentives will be given away such as Sony sound bars, Sony speakers, earbuds, Roku Expo, or $50 gift card to the first 15 students ages 5-17 who get their first vaccination dose at the event (while supplies last). The first 10 students ages 5-17 receiving their second dose at the event are eligible to receive a $50 Visa gift card.
Other first and second-dose participants of any age are eligible to have their name placed in a drawing for a laptop computer.
An event will be held from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on March 18 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 200 Church Street in Clio.
Another event will be from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23 at Bennettsville Community Center, 714 North Marlboro Street in Bennettsville.
A vaccination event will be held Wednesday, March 30 in partnership with Chesterfield- Marlboro EOC LIHEAP Program from 9 a.m.-noon at the Bennettsville Community Center.
The vaccines available are Pfizer (ages 5-11 and 12 and up), Moderna (18 and up) and Johnson & Johnson (18 and up).
A parent or guardian must be in attendance to sign for vaccinations.

COVID Data
Beginning Tuesday, the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) transitioned to reporting COVID-19 data once a week on Tuesdays.
Data showed three new COVID-19 cases and one death in the county.
The total confirmed number of cases in the county is 7,842 with 104 confirmed deaths.
Statewide, there are 1,151,142 cases with 17,380 deaths.
