Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Gilchrist of Jacksonville, NC announce the graduation of their daughter, Tamika M. Gilchrist. Tamika received her Master of Public Health with a concentration in Health Administration and Leadership from East Carolina University on May 6.
She is the great-granddaughter of Gladys Bridges, granddaughter of Dorothy Gilchrist and Maggie Peterkin, of Bennettsville.
While in graduate school, Tamika became a member of the Raleigh Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Tamika plans to continue the rewarding work of Substance Use Prevention and Youth Empowerment Leadership through policy change and advocacy while working with youth, families, and the larger community to decrease risks of substance misuse.
Her parents congratulated her on all her hard work, dedication and perseverance.
“To say we are proud of you is truly an understatement,” said the Gilchrist’s.
