Happy July Fourth

The Herald-Advocate offices will be closed Wed., Thurs.  & Friday to celebrate Independence Day.

Many of the citizens of Marlboro County got the Independence Day celebration off to an early start last weekend with fireworks at both Lake Paul Wallace and at the Brightsville Park.  On Saturday, activities at the lake started in the afternoon with water slides on the beach, various food vendors and music provided by local DJ David Graham.  At 6:30, the band Gary Lowder and Smokin’ Hot from North Myrtle Beach took the stage, playing a wide variety of dance tunes.  At dark, the City of Bennettsville Independence Day Fireworks Celebration lit up the sky over the lake.  Above, people enjoy the fireworks display from the beach.  Left, a group enjoys a line dance during the concert.  See page 7 for additional photos.
