Congressman Rice hands out school supplies
Congressman Tom Rice, right, handed out school supplies to hundreds of youth on Aug. 3 at the Bennettsville Community Center. L-r are siblings Ta'Quoirez Brockington, Sha'Miya Brockington and Sha'Diya Brockington. It was part of his Education First event where enough supplies were provided for 500 students. Rice said it is such a pleasure to see the youth, who are the future, and to see the hope and excitement on their faces about going back to school. He added he wanted to give students a head start with some school supplies. During the stop, he was joined by District 54 House Representative Patricia Henegan, Bennettsville Mayor Heath Harpe and others. Rice also provided school supplies to youth in Marion, Mullins and Dillon.
