One dead after head-on tractor-trailer collision

A person was killed Thursday (May 21) after a three-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer.
According to Master Trooper David Jones, the collision occurred at 5:25 p.m. at the intersection of Hwy 15-401 and Mount Zion Church Road.
A 1999 Honda was traveling east on U.S. 15-401 and had stopped to make a left turn onto Mount Zion Church Road. 
The driver of a 2017 Freightliner tractor-trailer, traveling east, was unable to stop, struck the rear of the Honda. 
It then went left of center and hit a Malibu, traveling west on U.S. 15-401
The driver of the Malibu died at the scene.
"The collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol," Jones said.
The driver of the Honda was transported by EMS to an area hospital. The driver of the tractor-trailer driver was not injured.
