Work begins on Cookout
Earthmoving equipment was at work on the corner of Broad Street and Highway 15-401 Wednesday at the site that is to be home to a Cookout restaurant.  The double-drive through building is expected to be completed in February.  The Sterling Building Group of Greensboro, NC is the general contractor.

Marlboro County teamed up with USA Waste and Recycling again this year for a Thanksgiving turkey giveaway. Saturday morning, November 21, volunteers distributed turkeys and other food items to residents in need at Marlboro County High School’s football stadium. This was the fourth year of the turkey giveaway.

The Marlboro Civic Center Foundation is celebrating its 20th anniversary this season and will bring country music mega-star Clint Black to its stage on Thursday, February 25.
Black’s career is one of the most storied in modern music. He surged to stardom in 1989 reaching #1 with five consecutive singles from his triple-platinum debut, Killin’ Time.

Marlboro Medical Complex to open in December, offering urgent care
In just a few weeks, Scotland Health Care System will open its new Marlboro Medical Complex on Cheraw Street in Bennettsville.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the new facility took place in late March of this year, and it will officially open on December 15. The system has invested nearly $2.5 million in the project.
