Computer technology leads to innovation in agriculture
It's not a stretch to say that computer technology has changed almost every business in the world over the last couple of decades.
One industry that is seeing a wave of new innovations involving technology is agriculture. By combining global positioning systems (GPS) and soil sample data, local farmers are going high tech to improve their crops.

McLeod Health officially assumes operations of hospital in Cheraw
McLeod Health of Florence has officially assumed operations of the former Chesterfield General Hospital in Cheraw, officials announced Monday.
It is now operating as an acute care hospital under the name McLeod Health Cheraw. It joins five other McLeod Health not-for-profit hospitals that serve a 15-county region with advanced heart, vascular, cancer, women's and children's services.

Brothers charged with vote buying in McColl

Two brothers from McColl were arrested this week on charges that they bribed voters in the town's recent election.
Bobby Ray White, 48, of 107 Railroad Avenue, and William Michael White, 52, of 106 East McLaurin Avenue, both were charged with criminal conspiracy and procuring or offering to procure votes by bribery, according to the S.C. Law Enforcement Division.
They were booked into the Marlboro County Detention Center Tuesday and later released on bond.
