SC Aquarium Rover Program brings hands-on experience to 7th graders
It’s not every day that a Marlboro County school student can say he touched a diamondback turtle or the tail of a baby alligator.
But that’s exactly what happened Wednesday, December 2, when the Charleston-based South Carolina Aquarium brought its Rover program to the School of Discovery in Clio.

This is the year that James Pate has been working toward.  After taking his lumps for the past several seasons, the Marlboro County High head basketball coach believes this is the season that the Bulldogs can return the favor.

Bennettsville Christmas Parade grand marshals, lineup named

The United Way of Marlboro County has been chosen as Grand Marshal for the City of Bennettsville’s Christmas Parade, which will be held in downtown Bennettsville on Tuesday, December 8, at 4:30 p.m.  The United Way of Marlboro County is a part of the Global United Way of America organization.

Earthmoving equipment was at work on the corner of Broad Street and Highway 15-401 Wednesday at the site that is to be home to a Cookout restaurant.  The double-drive through building is expected to be completed in February.  The Sterling Building Group of Greensboro, NC is the general contractor.
