WALLACE — A Dorchester man is facing charges after kidnapping a Wallace teen.

According to Lt. Trevor Murphy,  the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched on Thursday, April 15 to the Wallace community about a missing juvenile.

Family members said the 13-year-old was last seen walking down the dirt road approximately five hours before calling law enforcement. Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office responded and at approximately 8:30 p.m. on April 16, the juvenile was located in the Charleston area of South Carolina. 

Murphy said as a result of the investigation, the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office arrested John D. Fink III of Dorchester.

He was charged with one count of kidnapping and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Fink, 30, was arrested in Dorchester and is currently being detained at the Marlboro County Detention Center. 

As a result of the investigation, the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office partnered with SLED and the Summerville Police Department to further investigate this incident.

Murphy said Fink is also being charged by the Summerville Police Department for one count of criminal sexual conduct with a minor, second degree. Fink’s live-in girlfriend, Niccole Jean Smith, was also arrested by the Summerville Police Department and charged with one count of kidnapping. Smith, 31, will receive a bond hearing in Dorchester.

Fink received a $75,000 bond in Marlboro County and has a hold to be taken to Dorchester County to answer for his charges there.
