After two workshops, Bennettsville city council voted 6-1 on Tuesday to have the city administrator review an option for providing American Relief Plan Act premium pay for city employees.

Council will meet in a special called meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday to discuss the details of option nine for employees who worked during Jan. 1, 2020 through Dec. 7, 2021.

Alderman added the approval of the premium pay must be by resolution.

He will look at option nine from the city’s consultants, AECOM, and make any corrections.

He will present the revised document showing the three-tier list.

Council member Tyron Abraham voted no.

The swearing-in was held for council member Allen Taylor.

He was sworn in by Chastity Rummage with his wife Ashley and son, Tripp in attendance.

Taylor was later unanimously approved to serve as Mayor Pro Tempore.
