SC Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal three-vehicle collision on SC 38 North Monday (Jan. 25).

According to Master Trooper Brian Lee of S.C. Highway Patrol, the three vehicles involved were a 2016 Chrysler 200, a 2013 Chevy Malibu, and a 2013 Ford Fusion. The accident happened at 12:02 p.m.

Lee said the Chrysler and Ford Fusion were traveling north on SC 38 while the Chevy Malibu was traveling south.

The Chrysler went left of center and struck the Chevy Malibu, whose driver died as result of the accident.

The driver and passengers in the Chrysler were transported to a local hospital.

The driver of the 2013 Ford Fusion was not transported. Both the drivers of the Chrysler and Chevy Malibu were wearing seatbelts.

“This collision remains under investigation by the SC Highway Patrol,” Lee said.
