Two juveniles are recovering after being shot Thursday (Jan. 28).
Lt. Larry Turner of the Bennettsville Police Department said detectives were called to a residence on Lyall Street.
A preliminary investigation showed a minor child was able to access and retrieve a handgun inside the home.
Turner said the minor child accidentally fired the gun with it striking two juveniles.
Both victims were transported by EMS for medical treatment. Both individuals are in stable condition.
He noted the investigation, which is still in the early stages, is ongoing but the incident is being treated as accidental.
