A special called meeting for the Marlboro County Board of Education was canceled Wednesday due to a lack of quorum.
The meeting was called so board members could go into executive session to discuss contractual matters and employment matters related to the superintendent search.
It was to begin at 6 p.m. but only Chairman Lucy Parsons and board members Barbara Ohanesian, Macky Norton and Jackie Branch were there.
Board members waited for about 15 minutes before telling audience members and school district staff that there would be no meeting due to a lack of quorum.
A budget workshop is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday with a special called meeting at 7 p.m. in the Marlboro County High School media center.
